Experience Africa with a Lonely Planet blogger & connoisseur of local gin: adventure, stray animals & cultural (mis)observations.
Here are some of my African travel highlights – described in detail on my blog ‘Diary of a Muzungu’ www.muzungubloguganda.com which kicked off in 2009 when I arrived as a Voluntary Service Overseas volunteer with the Uganda Conservation Foundation, fundraising to stop poaching and protect elephants. Uganda is a stunningly beautiful country. But with the second highest birth rate in the world, land and natural resources are under immense pressure. For how much longer can the country boast of such wealth in birds and wildlife?
My blog documents why I’m in Uganda, field trips to the Bush, cultural (mis)observations, travel across Africa & luck (or otherwise!) finding a man.
I want to travel the length and breadth of Africa - by public transport? with my dogs? who knows …
